The MFDs are a series of depth conversations about our futures that range over a number of crucial topics and challenges facing humanity. The dialogs engage experts and analysts in probing the underlying assumptions and exploring the divergent and mutating futures we are hurling towards.
For now the dialogs happen once per season (summer, winter, spring, autumn) in a recorded zoom session that is later posted to vimeo. Over time the intention is to do these more frequently.
The MFDs, for now, follow the inquiry space established through the Mutant Futures process. This includes questions such as:
- What or where is the “Epic” in the situation we are discussing?
- What era or phase is in exhaustion and needs to end? What era or phase is in emergence and wants to be born?
- What is a better metaphor for thinking about the issue or challenge we are facing?
- What new selves are these “Epic Times” or futures calling forth from us?
- What adventure are we being called forth into?
- What mutant roles and personas play a part in this journey, in the drama we experience?
- What mutant methods or technologies might be imagined or created to address this challenge?
These questions and others are posed to our guests, in an in depth and winding dialog. We intentionally seek to enter and explore the rabbit hole into the depths of significances and potentialities.
